One of the surviving victims in the Irving Plaza shooting has been identified.
Model and Bronx native Maggie Carrie Heckstall was identified by police shortly after the shooting, reports The New York Post. The 26-year-old was shot in the leg in the concert venue’s green room while caught in the crossfire Wednesday evening (May 25.) More than 900 people were present for a concert headlined by T.I with special guest Uncle Murda, Troy Ave and Maino.
Reportedly, Troy Ave had a verbal dispute which led to the shooting. Surveillance cameras revealed the rapper fired several shots after he shot himself in the leg. Police claim five shots were heard, but another weapon hasn’t been recovered.
From her hospital bed, Heckstall, who is also reportedly the girlfriend of rapper Maino, reflected on the incident on social media.

Another victim who was shot in the chest has not been identified. B$B affiliate Ronald McPhatter, 33, was shot in the stomach and was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Ave, born Ronald Collins, was arrested and charged with attempted murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon. Police claim Collins can face more charges following a ballistics testing.
Meanwhile, Heckstall is having trouble seeing her family due to the NYPD’s extensive investigation. Her lawyer Emel McDowell tells the Post the police have made Heckstall’s recovery “miserable.”
“[Police] want to investigate and we get that, but don’t make her life miserable because she took a stray bullet,” McDowell said.“We understand the NYPD is doing their job, but she’s not under investigation,” he said. “She’s not in custody for the crime. She didn’t ask for police protection. She’s obviously a victim in this. They’re making her life worse by doing this.”
A firm representing Heckstall has sent a cease-and-desist letter to the NYPD to remove the officers from her room in the hospital.
