T.I. put smiles on the faces of Atlanta youth after hosting a back-to-school drive on Tuesday (Aug. 2). On the heels of closing his “Money Talk” campaign with over $80,000 raised for educational initiatives, the hometown hero joined forces with V-103 Atlanta to make his “Hustle Back to School Giveaway” a success.
School children throughout the city received free book bags, school supplies and treats, like popcorn and cotton candy, during the 6-hour event.
T.I. also used the family friendly gathering as an opportunity to encourage members of his community to register to vote and open up accounts with Citizens Trust Banks in the effort to support black-owned businesses.
Although the weather forecast wasn’t ideal, the cloudy day didn’t get in the way of the fun. “The Rain didn’t stop our shine!!!!” he wrote in a celebratory Instagram post. “Have a great year guys… Do ya thang!!!!”
