The trek to Mannheim, Germany to experience the über cool Time Warp festival has prevented many techno fans from attending. Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the coveted party is finally coming to New York City for the first time this Thanksgiving weekend. And in the spirit of keeping the party underground, it’s being held at the Kingsbridge Armory, a 180,000 square foot warehouse in the Bronx which was originally built to hold the National Guard’s armory in the 1910s. Now it will be transformed into a massive, pulsating dancefloor for all the techno fanatics to dance their asses off in. And if that wasn’t enough, the organizers will transform the armory into Time Warp’s legendary production, The Cave, an eerie, glowing grotto that is sure to engulf the senses.
Initially a one-day event, Time Warp has expanded to two days and will be held on Friday, November 28th and Saturday, November 29th. Fans were encouraged to sign up for special access to a pre-sale private code to get first dibs at tickets to the 2 day event. Tickets went on sale Tuesday morning with Tier 1 quickly selling out. Although the lineup has yet not been announced, expect to see some of the biggest names in techno right now. Past Time Warp events included the likes of Sven Väth, Ricardo Villalobo, Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Adam Beyer, Ben Klock, Luciano, Loco Dice, Magda, and many more techno legends.
Eat up at Grandma’s on Thanksgiving night because you will need the energy for one of the best parties to end 2014. Purchase your tickets ASAP as they will sell out and follow Time Warp on Facebook for all the latest announcements.
