Getting stuck underground for two hours — let alone five minutes — makes anyone wish they would’ve taken an Uber or Lyft to their destination. But a few passengers who experienced this annoying occurrence managed to put smiles on straphangers’ faces.
On Wednesday (Oct. 21), a Manhattan bound E train hit a standstill for 120 minutes, leaving passengers to board a “rescue train” back to Queens. During that timeframe, one person pulled out his cellular device (word to Erykah), and hit play on popular Hot 100 tracks to pass the time by.
Thanks to Drake, The Weeknd, and Fetty Wap, a few commuters in a certain train car had an impromptu karaoke session to “Hotline Bling,” “Hold On We’re Going Home,” “Can’t Feel My Face,” and “My Way.” The passengers later expressed their frustration through additional melodies like Big Sean’s “IDFWU,” and DMX’s “Party Up (Up In Here).”
Check out how they cleverly coped with being late to their destination below.
