Janay Rice took to her Instagram Tuesday (Sept. 9) to speak out for the first time about all the controversy surrounding her and her husband, former Baltimore Raven’s running back Ray Rice. Since TMZ released video footage of Rice delivering a knockout blow to his then fiance, and then dragging her out of an elevator, the former NFL athlete has been released from his contract, dropped from Nike and even had his image removed from Madden 15. While Janay Rice made it very clear that she will be standing be her husband, many took to Twitter to voice their opinions on Janay exhibiting such loyalty. Read some of the comments below.
Is #JanayRice now going to be called weak? For standing up for herself and having forgiven her husband #RayRice 4 months later?

I’m not sure why people are so shocked by #janayrice‘s #instagram. The psychology behind domestic abuse is real and we should be empathetic.

If #JanayRice wants to show what ‘real love is’ start with ur kid & remove her from a DV home. No one deserves to grow up in that. NO ONE!!

It’s #RayRice who caused hurt, embarrassment, loneliness, & who took all happiness away from #JanayRice. Her denial may kill her #WhyIStayed

Not saying #janayrice has to leave #rayrice, but I hope she becomes empowered enough not to blame herself or media, but blame him.

Why the hell are people saying #JanayRice stayed with an abuser for the money? Yeah, cuz poor people never beat their wives. #STFU

Just seeing #JanayRice defend #rayrice when he didn’t even bother to pick her up off the ground is repulsing. #standup#thatsreal#abuse

#JanayRice needs prayer and guidance. Do not blame her, she is in too deep and she has to pull herself out. #DontBlameTheVictim
