Tyga is revisiting his once tense relationship with Drake which surfaced during an interview with 106 KMEL’s Shay Diddy.
Throughout the sit-down, Tyga mentioned the media and miscommunication played a role in sustaining the flames of their rift. “It was really never no problem,” he said. “It was miscommunication. It was media. And then once you get into the petty game, it’s like ‘Alright, let’s just be petty all day.’ But you know, it was more like media and stuff.”
In VIBE’s October 2014 cover story, the Cali rapper referred to the Toronto native as “fake,” which later prompted a response from Drake on the song, “6 PM In New York.”
I heard a little little homie talking reckless in Vibe/ That’s quite a platform you chose, you should’ve kept it inside/ Oh, you tried/ It’s so childish calling my name on the world stage/ You need to act your age and not your girl’s age, Drake rapped.
The “Rack City” rapper also reiterated that there was never a problem between him and Drake, but added that they did go their separate ways for a minute. “And then I think over time, people grow apart. You don’t know what the other side is feeling,” he said. “You don’t know what he talking about. You don’t know what she talking about. You just lose that communication with somebody.”
Thanks to Kanye West, Tyga said he mended his relationship with Drizzy during West’s Yeezy Season 2 fashion show in September 2015. “…we just chopped it up for a long time about a lot of stuff. It’s all about conversation and communication,” he said. “Everything these days is misled. You can read headline.”
