Tyler stopped by the sold out venue to promote his upcoming album Wolf, which is scheduled to be released on April 2. With the stage resembling Tyler’s the-great-outdoors-themed album art, the Odd Future frontman entertained the crowd with his antics, all while performing hits off of his previous album Goblin and past work with the OFWGKTA collective.
Tyler performed five songs off Wolf, including a bit from “Slater/Escape-ism,” his collaborative track with Frank Ocean and Dave Matthews on the album. However, the album’s single “Domo 23” received the most applause and reaction from the fans. Casey Veggies surprised guests by joining Tyler to perform their track “Odd Toddlers.” Earl Sweatshirt’s rendition of “Whoa,” topped his SXSW version, the rapper claimed.
Accompanied by a depleted OFWGKTA (Jasper Dolphin, Taco and Earl), Tyler certainly had the Music Hall’s attention all through the night. The crowd swayed from right to left and flung various attendees into the air to crowd surf. Fans also chanted “Wolf Gang” in unison, to the delight of the OFWGKTA gang. Tyler received a Justified album on vinyl, a painting and an unusual photoshopped poster of his Wolf album cover, featuring George Costanza from Seinfeld in the upper right corner.
