I’ll never forget the moment I played Uno with my family and the attack of Draw 4 and Draw 2 cards that flew my way. Excited and full of confidence, I was ready to place my final card down and yell “Uno” but I was met with an attack so vicious, Thanos would shed a thug tear.
Well, those days might be behind me and other Uno warriors as Uno cleared up the biggest move in the game. “If someone puts down a +4 card, you must draw 4 and your turn is skipped,” their Twitter account shared on Saturday (May 4). “You can’t put down a +2 to make the next person Draw 6. We know you’ve tried it.”

The person who is supposed to Draw 2 cannot put down a Draw 4. 🤭

Despite clearing up the rules, Uno became the bad guy as fans enforced their own rules all over social media. We also weren’t privy to there being an actual point system (video above) for the game.
Wow Uno don’t even know how to Uno https://t.co/atxWW6Ljnq

Dear Uno,
That’s not even how Uno is played.

UNO: As the official voice of the game we created: here is the actual rule.
Black Twitter: nah, fam, we gonna play like been playing. That’s for the cards tho.
UNO: but no, we’re saying that isn’t correct.
Black Twitter: We good.

REMINDER: Uno's rules are determined by the community… Not Mattel. Those lil' ass rules printed on the box are like serving suggestions on the packaging. We don't pay attention that shit either.

But there’s a key element to avoiding all of the fighting and ruined relationships–just find out the house rules first.
Half of these UNO arguments would be prevented if yall just ask the house rules before playing pic.twitter.com/ZjTmIjizJV
