While Drake undergoes knee surgery today, the world is buzzing about what perhaps may be his biggest video yet: “Forever.”
Sources say the rapper/singer met up with Kanye West and Lil Wayne in Florida Sunday for two days of shooting the Hype Williams-directed video. Eminem shot his scenes in Detroit. The video was shot at Miami’s club Fontainebleau.
“The club was packed and popping,” says Young Money CEO, Cortez Bryant. “We shot a club scene. I’m not sure how Hype is going to use the footage though. I don’t know how he put it together, but with Hype videos you never know what to expect until you see the final cut. Hype, with his genius mind…. he just captures stuff.”
LeBron James was on-set and is expected to make a cameo in the video, which is promoting the soundtrack to his upcoming documentary film, More Than A Game.
News of the shoot began circulating over the weekend on Twitter, and pictures from the set began popping up online by Monday. “Forever” was produced by Canadian producer Boi-1da, who also produced Drake’s hit single, “Best I’ve Ever Had” and has worked with Kardinal Offishall and G-Unit. —Linda Hobbs
