Beyoncé already has proven herself as a singer, actress, and businesswoman, so it comes as no surprise that the award-winning superstar is finally adding a fragrance line to her budding empire.
What does one of the world’s hottest artists call their debut perfume? Heat, naturally. “A lot of my performances have had fire involved, so we thought ‘Heat’,”Beyoncé said. “Also, red is one of my favorite colors.”
After starring in campaigns for Tommy Hilfiger’s “True Star” and Giorgio Armani’s “Diamonds,” Beyoncé was finally ready to turn up the temperature with her own scent, created in collaboration with the fragrance house Givaudan.
The fragrance is accordingly spicy with notes of red vanilla orchid, magnolia, neroli and blush peach.
Things only get steamier with the advertisements, which feature Beyoncé in a skimpy red silk dress looking hot and bothered in a print ad, while the video showcases Ms. Fierce writhing around in a bathtub as she breathily sings, “You Give Me Fever.”
Beyoncé’s Heat hits stores nationwide in February and comes in three sizes: 1 oz. for $39; 1.7 oz. for $49, and 3.4 oz. for $59. ––Adrien Field
