With celebrity fans that include Rihanna, Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, and just about every other starlet with a body to show off, Hervé Leger is a red carpet staple.
The brand is known for bandage dresses that contour every curve of the body, synonymous with that sultry silhouette paparazzi cameras can’t get enough of. For Spring 2010, designer Max Azria updated Hervé Leger’s iconic dress with tight crochet knits that look almost skeletal. The collection has a more rustic feel than in seasons past, with washed denim and sandy hues making up the dominant color scheme. The outcome: A less dangerous sexiness than last season’s seductive reptilian garbs.
In fact some pieces are lackluster, as fabrics don’t hug the body like we’ve come to expect from Hervé Leger. Still, pieces like the gravel-beaded bandage dress make up for deficiencies in the opulently sexy department. –Adrien Field
