Diddy’s Madame Tussauds wax statue was vandalized over the weekend, leaving everyone wondering why.
The New York Daily News reports the strange incident took place just before 9pm on Saturday (Feb. 16), when an unnamed suspect arrived at the Times Square location. The vandal then headed to the A-List Party Room section of the museum where the wax statue stood and knocked it the ground. The force was reportedly so hard, the statue’s head fell off.
“An unidentified male pushed it to the ground causing the head to be decapitated from the body,” a New York Police spokesman said. The perpetrator was described as a man in a black hooded jacket with blue jeans.
According to NBC New York, before knocking down fake Diddy, he yelled at the music mogul’s statue and stomped on the head, fleeing the scene shortly after. There are currently no suspects in custody nor are there any clear motives linking the act of aggression to the 49-year-old.
In a statement to the Associated Press, Madame Tussauds New York says their artists will fix the damage “as quickly as possible” to get the figure back to the museum’s A-List Party Room.
Combs originally attended the statues reveal in 2009 when it debuted in New York City.
