Viola Davis is set to add another honor to her extensive list of wins. According to The Root, the How to Get Away with Murder actress will accept the Harvard Foundation’s “Artist of the Year” medal at the 32nd annual Cultural Rhythms Festival in Memorial Hall’s Sanders Theatre on March 4.
“The students and faculty of the Harvard Foundation are delighted to present the acclaimed television and film artist Viola Davis with the 2017 Artist of the Year award,” said Harvard Foundation Director S. Allen Counter. “Our student committee praised her outstanding contributions to American and international film and theater.”
Davis, who started the year off with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, has been having quite the award season. On Sunday night (Feb. 26), the Fences star made history with her Academy win for Best Supporting Actress, becoming the only black star to score an Oscar, Tony and Emmy for acting.
One thing is also for certain. When Davis takes the stage to accept her award this weekend, she is sure to impress with an unforgettable speech.
