J. Cole is taking a trip down memory lane for MTV’s RapFix special on the North Carolina native’s mixtape The Warm Up five years later, and with recounting old stories comes unearthing lost footage of his younger self. In 2009 the “Last Call” rapper was seen in the studio recording a few songs for the career-changing project when he aimed his attention at future boss man, Jay Z. “Jay Z I got a few projects that I would like to get you on … if you not scared,” Cole jokingly said. The Roc Nation signee went on to describe the backstory to that night, which he still hopes Hov will not watch. Check it out above and make sure to catch J. Cole’s The Warm Up 5 Years Later June 15 at 7:30 p.m. on MTV Jams.
