2013 saw a great year in music. With Kanye West preaching the word of Yeezus, Drake glorifying bad behavior on Nothing Was The Same and Beyonce nailing a three-pointer at the last second with her self-titled visual album, it was Justin Timberlake who nabbed the crown for best-selling album of the year with the 20/20 Experience.
Timberlake’s “20/20,” which was released on March 19, sold 2.43 million in 2013 and is the only album that sold more than 2 million copies this past year.
The 2013 sales tracking year began on Dec. 31, 2012 ended on Dec. 29, 2013.
“20/20” is also the smallest-selling year-end No. 1 album since SoundScan began tracking music sales in 1991.
Suits and ties were the running theme of the charts’ highest honors as Robin Thicke’s multi-Grammy nominated smash “Blurred Lines” was hailed the year’s top song in America as well as in the U.K.
