50 Cent is on a mission to discover the world’s “next great stand up comedian.” In an Instagram announcement posted on Sunday (April 30), the Queens native revealed his first television deal with BET to premiere his new show, 50 Central.
Per the network, the show will focus on sketch comedy and give hopefuls a chance to take their talents from social media networks to the small screen.
This news arrives nearly a month after the Power executive announced yet another TV program titled The Oath. Set to debut in 10 episodes on Crackle, the series will zone in on gangs and the people within who teeter on the right and wrong sides of the law, through the eyes of former L.A. County Sheriff’s Deputy Joe Halpin.
“I am very excited to be partnering with Sony Pictures Television Networks and Crackle,” 50 said in a press release. “To be able to bring this story to life is something I’m looking forward to and Joe Halpin’s personal experience will make this unlike anything that’s been seen before.”
A premiere date for 50 Central has yet to be announced.
