During Sony’s Upfronts ceremony today (Apr. 19) at Sony Square NYC, the entertainment company announced that Crackle, their ad-supported streaming service, would be airing 50 Cent’s upcoming scripted-drama series.
The Oath focuses on gangs that are “made up of those sworn to protect and defend.” It will be executive produced by the multi-hyphenate, and is written and produced by Hawaii Five-O‘s Joe Halpin. The network ordered 10 episodes of the hour-long series’ first season.

“These secret societies are nearly impossible to get into – but once inside, members will do what they must to protect each other from enemies on the outside and from within their own ranks,” reads a press release about the plot synopsis.
“The drama examines this all-too-real world through a gang that started out with the right intentions,” it continues. “But in order to stay both out of jail and alive, they will all need to re-examine the principles that guide them and speculate as to whether they can trust the badged criminals that operate amongst them.”
50 also closed a deal with the network to develop another hour-long original series, RPM, a crime-drama that is set in the “working class streets of Boston’s most corrupt neighborhoods.”
