For those who were disappointed John Singleton parted ways with (and pushed back) the long-awaited Tupac Shakur biopic earlier this year, there may be something else to satisfy your ‘Pac itch. Director Gobi M. Rahimi—the man who directed and produced Tupac’s music videos while he was at Death Row Records—is on a quest to bring his vision of Tupac’s last days on Earth to the big screen.
Before you get mad, his film 7Dayz is not by any means a Tupac biopic. It’s more so a movie that happens to include the Cali rapper, instead zeroing in on his personal impact on Rahimi.

“I was waiting for Tupac at club 662 in Las Vegas after the Mike Tyson fight on September 7, 1996,” he wrote on the film’s active Indiegogo page. “Soon after, I was informed by rapper Nate Dogg that Tupac and Suge Knight had been shot and taken to University Hospital. I immediately rushed there to be by Tupac’s side. This was the first of an emotional 7 days that I sat guard over Tupac who was in an induced coma, riding the line between life and death. 7Dayz is the story of my experience at the hospital amidst death threats, undercover FBI informants and an uncooperative Police Department.”
In order for 7Dayz to become a reality, Rahimi is trying to raise $300,000 to cover the costs of shooting, pre-production, post-production, visual effects, costume and props, studio and sets, equipment, talent and insurance.
