Andre 3000 is headed to the small screen. OutKast’s co-founder snagged a role in ABC’s hit drama American Crime.
The ATLien will assume the character of architect Michael Lacroix for season two of the groundbreaking series. The “Roses” artist will also link up with the show’s director John Ridley, since working on the Jimi Hendrix film All Is By My Side.

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Ridley expressed his delight in working with the multi-award winning musician/actor again. “He is an amazing individual, a true artist, and All Is By My Side is one of the reasons I was given the reins on American Crime,” he said. “Folks at ABC were absolutely moved by Andre’s performance in the film, and by the overall language of cinema we used in telling the story. It’s fair to say American Crime might not exist were it not for our previous collaboration.”
There’s no air date just yet for American Crime, but it’ll surely be one show you should catch this year. For now, check out the trailer from its debut season to see what you may have missed.
