While Tim Story can claim success for his recent efforts, many comic book movie fans still believe he messed up Fantastic Four. Now, the franchise is in Josh Trank’s hands and rumor has it he’s ready to unveil the new First Family of Superheroes.
20th Century Fox is in the process of negotiating deals with Miles Teller (That Awkward Moment), Kate Mara (House of Cards, Jamie Bell (from AMC’s upcoming Turn) and long-rumored Michael B. Jordan (Fruitvale Station).
According to Deadline, Bell and Jordan are the sure shots in this list who are ready to sign on the dotted line and head right into production. In case you don’t know who would play whom, Mara would play Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Bell would be Benjamin Grimm (The Thing), Teller would play Dr. Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic) and Jordan, of course, is rumored to play Johnny Storm (The Human Torch).
Teller and Mara were rumored to be on their roles’ respective shortlists since October, with Jordan in the mix long before that. The real surprise here is Bell, as no real casting rumors for The Thing had been announced or put into circulation.
Josh Trank’s reboot is slated for release on June 19, 2015. It follows Fox’s first attempt at a hit superhero franchise, which released Fantastic Four and Rise of the Silver Surfer in 2005 and 2007, respective. Those films were booed at the box office and starred Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis.
