
Say what you want about Azealia Banks’ controversial mouth and it getting her into trouble. The chick is still winning in these entertainment streets. She’s already snagged a Playboy cover, shut down two Coachella sets and shared that her next album, Business & Pleasure, is “half-finished.”

Now, the Broke With Expensive Taste rapper will be making her movie debut in the very near future. According to Deadline, Banks has been tapped to star in the RZA-directed feature film, Coco, by Lionsgate and Codeblack Films. Her character will stay within the vein of her expertise, as she’ll play a young, aspiring rapper from Brooklyn whose parents just want her to finish college. She obliges, but finds her hip-hop calling through spoken word.

This starring role in the drama is huge for Banks in more ways than one. She’ll be acting alongside a star-studded roster of talent, such as Common, Jill Scott, Lucien Laviscount, Lorraine Toussaint and Hana Mae Lee, in addition to working with the legendary Wu-Tang Clan member. The film, whose script comes from Nicole Jefferson Asher—will be produced by Paul Hall and overseen by John Sacchi, Bree Bailey and Jessica Switch.
