Famed actress, singer and songwriter Bette Midler has a career spanning almost half a century and aside from being the ringleader in our favorite Halloween movie Hocus Pocus, the 70-year-old film producer is also woke as all get out.
While the Oscars were in full swing and many were either excited or nervous about what Chris Rock would say, Midler took to Twitter to perfectly encapsulate the social climate in the United States.
The Oscars are today! You know, the awards show where Leonardo DiCaprio is “overdue” but black people can “wait till next year.”

This Tweet isn’t just a one-off for the Oscar nominee. Midler has been vocal about many issues concerning the Black community, even going as far to ask the president for a pardon.
