The highly anticipated film Black Panther is already breaking records ahead of its Feb. 16 release date.
According to Fandango, Black Panther has outpaced Captain America: Civil War, which was the online ticket vendor’s fastest selling Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, in pre sale ticket sales within the first 24 hours.
In May of 2016, Civil War opened to $179 million. While advance ticket sales do not directly correlate to the weekend opening totals, it is still important to note.
The star-studded cast including Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Chadwick Boseman, and Danai Gurira, also contribute to the interest fans have about the film.
Besides the series of dynamic trailers, Kendrick Lamar is also responsible for curation of the movie’s playlist and has a new song with Vince Staples that was featured in one of the trailers.
Blank Panther hits theaters February 16th. Check out the trailer below.
