It’s always a good day in journalism when a news broadcast starring an animated neighborhood citizen goes viral. Thanks to these broadcasts, the Internet has coined the phrase, “hide yo wife, hide yo kids.” And now the Internet has a new gem to enjoy after a broadcast on Oklahoma News on 6 went viral.
Like all the rest, the video was actually breaking the news on a building fire that broke out in an apartment complex, leaving over 100 people without heat, power, and potentially a home. But in the grim aftermath of this news, one resident, Michelle Dobyne, managed to provide a little bit of comical relief.
Dobyne told the news channel about the series of events that led to her evacuating the building. According to the resident, she was cooking her kids some breakfast when a friend came to the door to warn her about something going on. In that instant Dobyne engages in a full, animated conversation, acting as both herself and the woman’s who’s house was on fire.
By the end of the hilarious thirty-second video, Dobyne shared a few memorable lines. “Aw, man, the building is on fire,” Dobyne said on live TV. “I said ‘No, what?’ I got my three kids and we bounced out. Nuh-uh, we ain’t gon be in no fire. Not today.”
