Chelsea Handler’s late-night run on E! is coming to an end. The network announced Wednesday (May 28) that the host will be wrapping up her final show of Chelsea Lately on August 26, CNN reports.
Handler, the only female to have a daily talk show on the late-night circuit, began her stint in July 2007. She was never shy about criticizing her network home on-and-off-air but says she will embrace the next opportunity.
“I myself am more surprised than anyone that I was able to hold down a job for seven years, and it was a fantastic seven years,” Handler in a statement. “I will always look back at my time on E! as most people look back at their time in college. I’m glad I went.”
E! may develop a new late-night show but E! News is slated to occupy the 11pm time slot.
