Chris Tucker warmed everybody’s heart with a well-received supporting turn last year’s Silver Linings Playbook, and now he’s ready to front the bill in Relativity Media’s new comedy.
Directed by Gridiron Gang helmer, Phil Joanou, Chris Tucker is planning to ease his way back into Hollywood by playing one-half of a married couple who return to Antigua in an effort to spice things up. However, the legacy of their second honeymoon comes back to haunt them, as the trip goes from an attempt to reconnect with their younger, wilder selves and more about getting home alive.
Relativity Media has worldwide rights to finance, produce and distribute the project. Tucker will serve as an executive producer. The motor-mouthed comedian does not yet have a missus to co-star, but news should break with that info shortly.
Joanou, who previously directed Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in Gridiron Gang, most recently helmed the popular viral short film The Punisher: Dirty Laundry.
Up next for Chris Tucker is the 2013 BET Awards, which is he slated to host.
