Bobby Brown’s 20/20 interview has had a lot of people talking, and what was suppose to be promotion for his new memoir Every Little Step: My Story (Harper Collins) turned into what Cissy Houston thinks was a tell-all about her late daughter’s life.
“I am deeply disappointed this interview to promote the story of Bobby’s life seemed to be more of an exposé on Whitney’s life,” Cissy says. “My problem with Bobby has always been that he became her husband, but not her helpmate or protector.”
Houston, 82, briefly addressed some of the accusations Brown made about her daughter’s drug use and the family’s opinion of him during the Tuesday night (June 7) interview. Houston asserts no one blames Brown for starting Whitney on drugs. She also expressed disapproval of the timing of Brown’s statements.
“I only wish he had loved and respected her enough to make some of the negative statements about her and Krissi while Whitney was alive and able to respond from her perspective,” Houston says.
