One of Olivia Pope’s former gladiators is making his return to the small screen. In his first television role since his exit from Scandal, Columbus Short has landed a gig on TV One’s Fear Files horror film franchise, according to E! News.
Starring as City Councilman Harvey Jordan in the film entitled Fear, Short will play a politician who is determined to build a football stadium in a low-income community. When a fire leaves the last opponent to his plan dead and residents begin to question if is was a planned murder, Jordan woos reporter Kelisia Waters (played by Erica Hubbard)into keeping him out of the news.
Short announced that he would not be returning for season four of Scandal back in April, releasing a statement thanking creator Shonda Rhimes as well as the show’s cast.
“Everything must come to an end and unfortunately the time has come for Harrison Wright to exit the canvas,” he wrote. “I wish nothing but the best for Shonda, Kerry and the rest of the cast, who have become like a second family to me in such a short amount of time. For this, I will forever be grateful.”
TV One’s Fear Files Trilogy premieres on March 13 at 8 p.m.
