Columbus Short won’t grace viewers’ screens this fall with the return of Scandal on Sept. 24, but the young actor continues to make major entertainment moves.
The Stomp The Yard star is set to appear in the film True To The Game, an adaptation of New York Times Best Seller Terri Woods’ book of the same name. Backed by Manny Halley, CEO of Imani Films, the love story will be shot by famed director, Nia Hill, and receives guidance from casting director, Leah Daniels-Butler.
“We decided to go with Columbus because he is an outstanding actor with an incredible work ethic,” Halley said. “He is a true talent, and I am excited about what he will bring to the big screen in this urban love story” says Halley.
The synopsis of the reel focuses on the relationship between a young woman named Gena who hails from the inner-city, and a crime-laden man named Quadir, who introduces Gena to his fast-paced and dangerous lifestyle.
There’s no word on when this highly-anticipated film will hit theaters, but production is scheduled to kick-off this year.
