
Common has announced another role within the film/TV realm. According to Deadline, the Chicago native will serve as a co-producer on a forthcoming sitcom centered around his beloved hip hop.
Named 93 Til Infinity, the comedic show will focus on a rapper who rose to fame in the 90s, but struggles with ways to preserve his credibility in today’s music scene while balancing family issues.
Ian Edelman serves as the main writer for the show, boasting HBO’s How To Make It in America as his past work.
Recently, Common also announced that he’s set to produce a remake of the 1975 classic Cooley High. The original film, directed by Michael Schultz, starred veteran actors Glynn Turman, Garrett Morris, Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs, and Jackie Taylor.
