It was a night of lasts as David Letterman brought the nostalgia and the laughs for his final hoorah on the Late Show at the Ed Sullivan Theater on Wednesday night (May 20). Letterman strolled down memory lane, showing a clip of him posing as an employee of Taco Bell and his last ever “Top 10” list, a show staple since 1985.

The final show was also a Hollywood cypher of A-listers, from Chris Rock to Cher to Jerry Seinfeld to Tina Fey. He also managed to snag four presidents (George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama) for a video package.
But the moment belonged to Letterman, who capped off his 33-year TV run with his signature “Thank you and good night,” as the Internet poured its heart out for the late-night gawd with the emotional hashtag #ThanksDave.
