Diana Ross provided an effortless amount of slayage during her performance at this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, making history once again.
The icon performed “Simply Having A Wonderful Christmas Time” on the Hallmark Channel’s Heartwarming Holiday Countdown float Thursday (Nov. 22) in New York. In her signature white fur, Ms. Ross sang the tune sans a microphone. As she lip synced in 21- degree weather, family members Rhonda, Tracee Ellis, Chudney, Ross and Evan with wife Ashlee Simpson-Ross (sporting sleek white AW18 DROMe coats) joined in on the fun.
Viewers at home also caught Ross’ charming performance and rightfully praised the legend. Ross previously performed at the parade in 1979, where she was awarded Female Artist of The Year. At the time, she performed in a sleek green number with a matching fur. Most importantly, she also performed without a mic because she’s the boss.

Diana Ross is so iconic that she’s gonna lip sync the Worlds Worst Ever Christmas Song™️ without the pretense of using a microphone. This is most boss move I’ve ever seen. Legend!

Other performers included John Legend, Rita Ora, Kelly Clarkson, Ella Mai, Bad Bunny and Kane Brown.
In addition to her set, Ms. Ross released a lovely gift to fans in the form of the 20-track holiday compilation, Wonderful Christmas Time. ABC News Radio notes the album includes music from her previous holiday albums A Very Special Season and Making Spirits Bright.
“There are so many things I love about the holiday season,” Ross says in the album’s liner notes. “Decorating the tree with the family, the lights, the mistletoe, having family and friends and lots of kids around with the sound of their laughter and the feeling of joy and fun…It’s a happy, happy time.”
Ah, we’re ready for Christmas already.
