However, it seems as if the rapper could potentially change the course of public perception that has derailed his entertainment career in recent years. According to Deadline, DMX is slated to star in Pimp, an independent flick slated to be helmed by writer-director Christine Crokos.

The film is set to provide viewers with an intimate portrait of inner city women who grapple with the ins and outs of illegal sex trade. The drama stars Keke Palmer as a pimp who strives for a better life along with her girlfriend, who will be portrayed by actress Hayley Ramm. Those who have kept a close eye on DMX’s career know that this isn’t his first time circling around the film circuit. The troubled rapper is known by fans for his memorable turn in the Aaliyah-led action drama Romeo Must Die, as well as Cradle 2 The Grave.
