The quarterback for the New Orleans Saints may be slamming critics for the bounty probe, but it’s his partnership with Xbox 360 that is worth putting your money down on.
Drew Brees has signed on to work with Kinect for Xbox 360 on a program called the “60 Million Minutes Challenge,” which encourages kids to be active for 60 minutes each day. If the gaming goliath gets to its goal of one million kids pledging to work their tails off, it will result in 60 million minutes of active play toward combating childhood obesity. The Kinect for Xbox 360 is the main sponsor of the NFL Play 60 program.
As if you didn’t need anymore incentive to participate in the program, another cool perk is that once you’ve pledge your 60 minutes, exercising gamers will be entered for a chance to win a “Social Autograph” sent to your personal Facebook page. NFL stars such as Jerry Rice, Amani Toomer and, of course, Drew Brees will “autograph” your Facebook wall — which requires the athlete to actually send a friend request to you — if only for a limited time. This one may not be worth as much money as an autographed 8×10 glossy, but the moment can be shared with your entire social media network making you an instant start on timelines around the World Wide Web.
The Facebook app is available for installation today, so don’t hesitate, break on through and get active for a great cause. You can find the app where kids can pledge their 60 minutes by clicking HERE.
