It’s been more than two decades since Eazy-E passed away, but his family isn’t satisfied with the cause of death report they were given at the time of his passing in 1995. On a mission to find the real answers, Eazy-E’s family has launched a Kickstarter campaign to produce a documentary that reveals what they believe led to his death.
To the world, the N.W.A. rapper died due to AIDS-related complications. But to Eazy’s daughter Ebie Wright and the rest of her family, there’s much more to the story. Ebie, her mother Tracy Jernagin, and half-sister, Erica have embarked on a mission to bring the documentary entitled A Ruthless Scandal: No More Lies to the small screen to present “jaw-dropping” facts surrounding the rapper’s death, as well as address the alleged inconsistencies his fans have been fed over the years, according to Rolling Stone.
“The stories that we’re telling are mainly about the scandal surrounding my father’s death,” Ebie told Rolling Stone. “But we also wanted to show his accomplishments, his personal life and, really, the aftermath of his demise and what happened to us. We never felt the story that was told to the public was the truth. It’s just something that has always pained us.”
The film will allegedly investigate the rumor that Eazy-E was murdered after being injected with HIV-infected blood, which stemmed from a 2003 interview with Suge Knight. Knight mysteriously detailed Eazy ‘s death by a lethal injection of the virus. Since then, Eazy E’s son, Eric Wright has accused Suge of orchestrating a plan to infect and murder his father.
A former Ruthless Records artist, Frost made similar claims in 2015, suggesting Eazy-E was infected with the virus during his acupuncture treatments. “I think they really had a stronghold of giving him tainted needles with the AIDS virus in them through acupuncture, because how else could somebody die that fast of AIDS?” Frost said. “Have you even heard of somebody dying in two weeks of AIDS bro? Come on, man. It’s unheard of, bro.”
In addition to exploring new theories about Eazy-E’s death, the documentary will reportedly provide court documents and testimonials from people close to the rapper. “We’re not accusing anyone, but maybe they want to tell their side,” Ebie’s mother, Tracy Jernagin stated. “This is going to be very objective. We’re not going to point fingers. We just want to present the facts and let people make their own evaluation of it.”
