Ellen DeGeneres is one of the many celebrities who isn’t taking sides in the Nicki Minaj– Cardi B feud, as both of them have appeared on her talk show. However, she is addressing the back-and-forth drama in the best way she knows how- by being hilarious.
In a segment from Ellen’s Halloween episode on Monday (Oct. 29) about kids’ costume ideas, a Kindergartner named Mila, who is dressed in a pink top and a long black wig, goes up to the host to ask for candy. DeGeneres asks who she is dressed up as, and she responds that she is “Nicki Minaj.” DeGeneres later pulls out a plastic shoe and places it on the young girl’s head.
“This is the shoe that Cardi B threw at you,” she says to laughter and cheers from the crowd before filling up the young girl’s plastic pumpkin with candy. This is, of course, a reference to the now-infamous New York Fashion Week altercation between the Queen MC and the Invasion Of Privacy rapper.
After cooling down, the incident resurfaced this past Monday (Oct. 29) on Beats 1’s Queen Radio, after Minaj insinuated that entourage member Rah Ali “beat Cardi’s a**” during the fight. Cardi clapped back in an Instagram rant, where she stated that Nicki “lie[s] so much [she] can’t even keep up with [her] f**king lies.” From there, Minaj responded, but the two ultimately ended on perceivably amicable terms.
