The trailer for the classic 1920s novel turned film, The Great Gatsby, premiered yesterday and to everyone’s surprise features music from Jay-Z and Kanye West. Based on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel, the trailer features the Frank Ocean assisted, “No Church in the Wild”. While it is unsure whether the song will appear in the actual movie, according to a MTV interview with co-star Isla Fischer last month, the song played a key role on set. “On my first day he had Jay-Z pumped up full, and we did the entire scene with, you know, Jay-Z in our ear on full blast while acting, and it was just so liberating,” Fischer said. The Great Gatsby was directed by Baz Luhrmann, and stars Leonardo DiCapri as the novel’s classic protagonist, as well as Tobey Maguire, Carey Mulligan, and Joel Edgerton as the supporting characters.
