The Internets were all riled up on Friday (Aug. 21) at the thought of a Straight Outta Compton sequel. As the hit N.W.A. biopic enjoys its box office reign, chatter about a second biopic began to circulate. And according to TMZ and Daz Dillinger, the follow-up was slated to surround Snoop Dogg, Tupac, Nate Dogg, Warren G, Kurupt and Daz.
But it looks like there might be a slight snag in the plans. In a statement released to Entertainment Weekly, Universal Pictures denied any plans of a Straight Outta Compton sequel.

“At this time there are no plans for a Straight Outta Compton sequel,” a rep released to the news site in a statement.
According to the initial report, the spin-off, which was tentatively titled Dogg Pound 4 Life, was allegedly set to depict the rise of Snoop, ‘Pac and the other West Coast hip-hop legends by picking up where Straight Outta Compton’s plot left off. TMZ also stated that Dr. Dre’s son Curtis Young would take a page from O’Shea Jackson Jr. and play the role of his father. Jackson and the other N.W.A. biopic cast members were reportedly scheduled to be replaced with a new group of actors.
For what it’s worth, a biopic of Straight Outta Compton’s caliber on the life of Snoop Dogg and Co. could prove to be pretty profitable, as the film is slated to cross the $100M mark at the box office this weekend.
