On Valentine’s Day 2020, a film sets out to explore a new meaning of love and how far one is willing to go to fight for what they believe in and want. Produced by Will Packer’s studio, The Photograph pins two main characters at the center of a journey of self-discovery and vulnerability in the face of uncertainty.
Starring Issa Rae and Lakeith Stanfield, the story brings the pair together when Stanfield’s character (Michael Block) decides to write a story about Rae’s mother (Christina Eames) and her poignant photos. The images are accompanied by a letter Rae’s mother penned for her before she passed away. Here, Rae (Mae Morton) grapples with figuring out her own interpretation of L-O-V-E by analyzing her mother’s past and first love.
Directed by Everything, Everything‘s Stella Meghie, The Photograph also stars Rob Morgan, Y’lan Noel and Chante Adams.
