Another interesting project involving the mind of Kanye West is officially in the works. According to The Hollywood Reporter, a project by the name of Omniverse is somewhere down the pipeline courtesy of Mr. West and fellow executive producers Scooter Braun (his former manager), writer Lee Sung Jin, Jaden Smith, James Shin, Scott Manson and Miguel Melendez. And while Omniverse sounds like an album offering in the vein of Yeezus and Yandhi, it’s in fact an anthology for Showtime.
The limited half-hour series a succinctly described as an anthology “examining the many doors of perception” through the alternate reality of Kanye West. Now who’s on board in front of the camera? None other than Jaden Smith, who will reportedly taking on the role of young Kanye Omari West in this said alternate reality.
Omniverse‘s pilot script for season one has already been commissioned. There aren’t too many more details about the plotline and additional characters, but this undertaking is the first TV series to West’s credit, making him an even longer professional multi-hyphenate. Additionally, this series would be the first anthology on Showtime in quite some time.
Will you be tuning in?
