Remember Zola? She was the stripper who tweeted about her trip to Florida that became the hot topic of conversation on the Internet last year. Well, her 148 tweets weren’t simply viral entertainment. According to Variety, Zola’s account of a road trip gone awry will now be adapted into a feature film directed by James Franco.
Yep, that Twitter story you retweeted to all your followers and laughed at will soon hit the big screen.
The film is reportedly based off of David Kushner’s Rolling Stone story “Zola Tells All: The Real Story Behind The Greatest Stripper Saga Ever Tweeted.” Franco will direct the film from a script written by Andrew Neel and Mike Roberts.
“It reads like ‘Spring Breakers’ meets ‘Pulp Fiction,’ as told by Nicki Minaj,” Kushner said.
No word on when the film will go to production, when it hits theaters or more importantly, will Zola herself get a cut of the profit, but this is by all definitions the biggest and best glo up to anyone who has ever glo’d up.
