ABC’s hit series, Shark Tank may be eyeing a new host, according to Barbara Corcoran. Corcoran – who currently serves as a co-host on the reality show that gives entrepreneurs the chance to present their ideas before a board of executives – suggested that Jay-Z would make a great addition to the team considering his recent billionaire status.
TMZ recently caught up with Corcoran on Wednesday (June 5), where she commented on Hov’s latest accomplishment. As you may have heard, Forbes recently confirmed that the rapper and businessman’s estimated net worth is $1 billion, making him hip-hop’s first billionaire. According to Corcoran, his achievement is well-deserved.
“He deserves it, c’mon,” Corcoran told TMZ. “He’s a self-promoter. He works his a** off. Why shouldn’t he be a billionaire?”
When asked whether she would consider him for a spot on Shark Tank, she said that he would be more than welcome to join the crew. In fact, she would even be willing to personally invite him to the show and put in a good word to her producer. “I bet he’ll be the best shark, why not?” Corcoran added. “I’ll make sure he gets invited.”
As stated, Jay-Z’s billionaire status stems from a number of business ventures. He has major stakes in Armand de Brignac champagne ($310 million), cash and investments ($220 million), D’Ussé ($100 million), Tidal ($100 million), Roc Nation ($75 million), his own music catalog ($75 million), art collection ($70 million) and real estate ($50 million).
