According to movie site Screen Rant, DC Comics’ long-gestated “Justice League” film is on-hand to compete against Marvel’s sequel to its record-breaking “Avengers” picture in 2015. The two films will likely choose opposite ends of the summer, but the excitement is already beginning to bubble on the World Wide Web.
As Marvel has begun their “Phase Two” initiative (see: “Iron Man 3” trailer), the script for “Justice League” is currently being written by Will Beall, who penned the star-studded mob flick “The Gangster Squad,” which stars Sean Penn, Josh Brolin and Ryan Gosling.
For those uninitiated to the popular DC Comics superhero supergroup, the Justice League was originally founded by Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Martian the Manhunter and The Flash. It is expected that these will be the characters featured in the big screen mash-up. A director for the project is still needed, and there is no word on whether the DC characters will correspond to either Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel” interpretation of Superman, or Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises”.
With a script in progress, there is a healthy buzz in the air as DC Comics and Marvel finally has their face-off.
