Kanye West was met with boo’s from some members of the Saturday Night Live audience after going on a pro-Donald Trump rant.
Booked as the Season 44 opener, Mr. West performed “Ghost Town” with Kid Cudi and 070 Shake along with his newest collaboration with Teyana Taylor “We Got Love.” While wearing Trump’s ‘Make America Great Again’ hat, Mr. West began his rant after the show ended. However, Chris Rock who was in the audience recorded and placed it on his Instagram stories.
“The blacks want always Democrats… you know it’s like the plan they did, to take the fathers out the home and put them on welfare… does anybody know about that? That’s a Democratic plan,” he continued. “There’s so many times I talk to, like, a white person about this and they say, ‘How could you like Trump? He’s racist.’ Well, uh, if I was concerned about racism I would’ve moved out of America a long time ago.”
Rock can be heard snickering in the background as he’s recording Kanye and saying “oh my God,” while others were heard booing.

West, to the dismay of many of his fans, has become an outspoken Trump supporter. News of Ye’s comments made their way to social media and offered up a mixed bag of emotions.

.@kanyewest IS A HERO.
Shame on every single person, on both sides of the aisle, who couldn’t see that early on.
He is moving this country and the world forward with sheer bravery.
Remember that when you write your meaningless articles.
Real bravery takes risk.

#KanyeWest is doing him…being who he is and that's absolutely wonderful. But I chose NOT to reward someone (by purchasing his music or clothing or supporting his "art") who I believe is embracing and spewing ideology that is harmful to my community. He is free. So are we.
