Irony. Sometimes, it’s really hard to avoid it. This week it was handed over in the form Jason “Jace” Alexander, a former Law & Order director who was sentenced to 10 years probation for child pornography.
According to People, the ruling was given on Tuesday (June 27), almost six months after the the 52-year-old pleaded guilty to the charges. In 2015, files of minors under 15 engaging in sexual acts were discovered at Alexander’s home in Westchester County, New York. He initially faced up to seven years in prison for the crime. Instead, Alexander would have to register has a sex offender in New York to court his probation. His charges included two charges of child pornography and with one felony count of promoting a sexual performance by a child.
During his run in the 90’s, Alexander directed over 30 episodes of Law & Order, the Associated Press reports. Later credits included the NBC series Blacklist and FX comedy, Rescue Me.
The news was especially disturbing to fans of the show, with one Twitter user perfectly questioning Alexander’s light punishment.
