“So many people are used to be seeing me on the basketball court,” he says. “So to see what I’m capable of on the big screen and being a part of something with Bill Hader, Amy Schumer, and Judd [Apatow] producing the whole thing and directing, it’s pretty cool.”
Apatow’s latest laugh fest follows Amy (played by Schumer), who is overly fearful of commitment in relationships. Even her father drilled the phrase “Monogamy isn’t realistic” into her head as a young girl. She plays the field (even bumping uglies with wrestling star John Cena) before swooning over a handsome sports doctor (Hader).
While it’s strange not seeing LBJ take the lead, he sure looks like a promising wingman. Trainwreck rams into theaters this summer.—Cook T.P.
