Leslie Jones isn’t here for anyone taking credit for her career. The Saturday Night Live star decided to slam both Kevin Hart and Katt Williams have subtly credited themselves for her and other black female comedians success.
Speaking to Bossip Friday (Sept. 21), Jones didn’t hold back when it came to Hart’s comments. That same day, Hart appeared on The Breakfast Club, where he slammed Williams for discrediting Night School co-star Tiffany Haddish’s brand of comedy. He also alluded that comedians like Jones, Luenell and Melanie Comarcho have found success due to their appearances on Williams’ various comedy specials.
“So when you say Tiffany Haddish doesn’t deserve or isn’t really a comedian, and these other women have worked hard, which they have,” Hart said, adding: “Shoutouts to Melanie Comarcho, shoutouts to Luenell, shoutouts to Leslie Jones, who are all underneath the umbrella of Katt Williams.”
“Real talk both of them ni***s need to keep my name out they mouth unless they using it to eat my p***y real talk,” Jones said. None of those ni***s put me on or any woman. While he talking about Katt what did he do to put women on he didn’t help females they weren’t on his tour f**k that ni**a!!”
She did give credit to Williams, who has shared his platform with Jones in the past. She also said that if anyone should take credit for her success, it would be Chris Rock and writer-comedian Neal Brennan (Chappelle’s Show, All That, Inside Amy Schumer). Jones also questioned why she and other female comedians are being name-dropped in Hart and Williams’ so-called beef when female comedians are never treated with the same respect as their peers.
“Women have never had it good,” she explained. “At least Katt put women on his tour or shows. How many shows back in the day didn’t have a woman on them? Kevin that motherf**ker told me one time I would never make it. Nobody is telling the truth! Everyone needs to shut the f**k up before I tell you what’s really real and they all know I know. I haven’t said sh*t about anyone and if I do I keep it real and respectful and honest. What’s upsetting me is anybody saying anything. Shut the f**k up and do your f***ing job cause this ain’t it.”
Williams or Hart has yet to respond to Jones.
