Ludacris is known for appearing in front of the camera, but the Atlanta native is taking a seat behind the lens.
According to Variety, Luda is set to executive produce a new series titled The Down Beat, which will air on CBS. In partnership with Ryan Seacrest Productions, the show will focus on a business maven who seeks to recruit at-risk teens for a high school marching band. The program is also based in Atlanta.
The “Grass Is Always Greener” rapper has a stacked reference sheet of films under his belt, including Crash, Hustle & Flow, American Hustle, and the blockbuster hit Furious 7. Earlier this week, Luda took to his Instagram to announce the news, writing, “And the resume continues to build #mogulmindset.”
There’s no air date as of yet, but the synopsis of the show sounds promising.
