
The relationship between law enforcement and African-Americans in the United States has been a volatile for years, and with diversity in television increasing, shows such as Scandal, Black-ish and American Crime are tackling the issue head on by using their art to imitate life.
Now, Beyond The Lights director Gina-Prince Bythewood throws her hat in the ring with the new Fox event series Shots Fired. The racially charged drama stars Mack Wilds, a uniformed police officer questioned for shooting and killing an unarmed white man. As the story unfolds, Sanaa Lathan and Stephan James begin their investigation only to realize with each new lead, there’s corruption on both sides of this case.
