
Grammy-winning musician, R&B royalty, Queen of Hip Hop Soul- these are among the many names that have been used to describe Mary J. Blige over the course of her nearly 25 year career. As of right now, it seems as if the legendary songstress can finally add actress to her long list of accomplishments. According to Entertainment Weekly, Mary J. Blige is set to guest star in the third season of the ABC drama How To Get Away With Murder.
While details surrounding Blige’s role have been kept under wraps, it is bound to be a major one given her star power. The popular potboiler, created by Pete Nowalk and executive produced by primetime maven Shonda Rhimes, is known for its endless array of shriek inducing plot twists and “whodunnit” storylines. Blige isn’t un-familar to the acting arena. The famed R&B singer has amassed acting credits in films like Prison Song and Betty & Coretta, while lending her star power in television appearances in black-ish , Empire and The Wiz! Live. The third season of How to Get Away With Murder premieres on Thursday, Sept. 22 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
